There are a number professions that are available to players within Redemption Reloaded.
Professions help players in a couple of ways:
I will NOT give away the farm on this but I do hope to shed light on some things.
The craft items range from 'the easy to obtain' all the way to 'man, this sucks!'. THAT'S BY DESIGN. As with most things in RD Reloaded, the more difficult the item/task/event, the greater the reward. Professions are no exception.
There are four levels of mastery in a profession (Journeyman, Novice, Expert, Master) and three tiers within each (Low, Medium, High).
Each tier within a mastery level has a specific requirement to obtain (refer to the PERCENTAGES thread for details).
There is also a percentage of failure as you make objects in which case, you loose all your items.
Here is what you can expect (An Example)---
Gaining Ranks:
Each successful craft nets you 1 rank
20 ranks are needed to reach the next tier
There is a 25% chance of failure
It takes roughly 30 seconds to make a craft (provided you have all materials)
==> it will take you 25 crafts to reach the next tier (including failures) or 12 minutes (m)
Craft Components:
These are a bit more complicated.
Components can be bought, found and stolen. Typically, you can expect that the higher the mastery level and rank, the more difficult the item is to obtain. There is no times for obtaining these but here is a sample:
MANA- Journeyman Mastery, Medium Tier
Iron Bands (can be purchased) + Blob of Acid (killing the Gelatinous Cube or Ochre Jelly)
Killing either of the jelly-types might take you about 2 minutes (t). There is also a respawn time of 10 minutes (r).
Now, if I need 20 mana, my time spent is as follows (if I obtained the acid from the Cube alone):
25 * (t+r) + m = 312 minutes
==> it will take you 5 hours and 20 minutes to advance to the next mastery if all you made was mana and collected it (acid blob) from 1 creature
*Another way to look at this, it will take you 5 hours and 20 minutes to advance from the Medium tier to the High tier of the Journeyman Mastery if all you crafted was mana however, after that, you would have 100% success rate, and your craft time for just mana would decrease to 4 hours 20 minutes.
Professions help players in a couple of ways:
- Provides gameplay longevity (it's something to do! )
- Provides items that are not found elsewhere (makes everyone envious )
They are NOT meant to be worked through swiftly and help a player really explore the ever changing world of Dominia.
Having said that, there are some things to keep in mind.
