Yup as Flahor said, just extract the downloaded file and put everything (portraits.2da and soundset.2da, no problems with putting the readme in either) in the "Neverwinter Nights Diamond Edition/override" folder. In case it doesn't exist yet, simply create a new folder named "override".
Make sure to extract the files directly in the override, don't keep it in a subfolder.

Thats ok..i think i broke somthing trying to install the NWN Client Extender.
what makes altering all this so tedius is im using my old nwn Dimond disk to reinstal.. and edit stuff.. but ive never really done it with windows 7.. nothing ive played sense i owne windows 7 .. had a need to ini edit.. or manual patch..anything.and some of the site guides (not our guides posted) but the guides in the discription at the links. arnt very helpfull
how ever i did finly manage to find and edit my ini file.. i had to add things to it..they werent listed already.
for some reason i didnt have a file erf.. but i found all my erf files in texureplates.. or somthing like that. just heads up to those installing Cep and cant find their erf'sDisable the waiting for Master Server and Gamespy
"Since the NWN Master Server and Gamespy went down, trying to get to your game can be very tedious, as you need to wait for the game to figure the servers aren't there any more. In case you aren't using NWNCX, you can still fix this by editing your hosts file (don't know what a hosts file is? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hosts_(file)).
Notice: For some reason the forum does not allow me to post the location of the hosts files (if I include it, it blocks my forum post ... ). So, just refer to the guide linked below or use Google to find out the location of the hosts file.
It does not matter which editor you use but you will require Administrative rights to edit this file. This mean that if, for instance, you want to edit this in Notepad, you need to open Notepad as an Administrator or you will not be able to save the file.
The line you need to add in your hosts file is this:
0.0.0.0 nwmaster.bioware.com peerchat.gamespy.com " ^^^^^^^^^^ this was actuly fairly easy but on windows 7 i had to make a short cut to hosts then go into properties and set it to run as admin. in order to get my admin privlages.
