Party XP

I have heard a lot of complaints on the server lately about party XP. It seems that when you are alone you get a really good XP for each kill based on your level and the level of the area you are in. When you party up with someone this drops exponentially. Sometimes as low as 1/10 of what it would be alone or more. If you add a third person to the party it goes up to a 1/3 to 1/2 of what it would be if you were alone. If you add a fourth person it still is lower than it would be if you were alone. Past that it starts getting good again. While I understand the theory that a larger group means you can kill things faster the current structure seems more to dissuade people from partying if there are only 2 or 3 people on the server. Could the system be tweaked at least enough to make it worthwhile for 2 people to party up if they are the only ones on the server and want to? I have seen too many small parties separate and go to different areas because the XP was so bad with only 2 or 3 people. As most of the time the number of people on the server seems to only average 2-4 people except during peak times such as planned boss runs dissuading people from being in parties because of the xp seems detrimental to the server.

While my opinion does not reflect the thoughts of all the DMs I can say I agree with your statement. I often end up going off alone to level when I actually do play. This is however double edged. If group play was promoted over single play those who are often alone on the server would suffer.

Still I find the current group XP a bit discouraging it's a rarity to find all of us within range or enough people to utilize the group XP. Given this has been a topic of discussion before I will bring it up with Tempus and learn how our XP system works.

I am another of those people especially in the later levels where you're working harder for your xp that goes on his own. I was grinding vamps with raven one night and the xp was so bad that both of us just decided to take a break. Lets hope for some positive changes! =D
